FOR ALL EMERGENCIES AND FIRE BURNING COMPLAINTS PLEASE CALL 9-1-1
The Barriere Fire Department is serviced by a group of dedicated volunteers trained in structural and wildland fire suppression, highway rescue and more. We service approximately 2500 residents within the fire department boundary, attending to 90-110 incidents annually.
Along with fire suppression our volunteers preform a number of different tasks, including livestock extrication and rescue, motor vehicle incidents, low/steep angle rescue, FireSmart home assessments, HAZMAT (to operations level) and more!
We also work closely with British Columbia Ambulance Service, RCMP, Barriere First Responders Society and Barriere Search and Rescue to prepare and execute emergency plans.
Our fire department works together with the residents of Barriere on community events that support the safety and welfare of the town and people we serve.
