***IMPORTANT*** - HOME OWNER GRANT APPLICATION CHANGE
The Province of BC has changed how Home Owner Grant's are claimed. All property owners must now claim their current year home owner grant by submitting their application directly to the Province.
How to Apply:
Eligible BC homeowners can apply for the 2024 Homeowner grant via:
- 24/7 online: gov.bc.ca/homeownergrant
- With an Agent: Toll-Free at 1-888-355-2700, Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5pm
- 24/7 using a *voice recognition application: Toll-free at 1-888-355-2700
*Homeowners can use the voice recognition application if:
- Their eligible home is a principal residence, and
- They are applying for a basic or additional grant
Note: if a property owner uses the self serve voice recognition option, they can connect with a live agent if they wish at any time
Municipalities are no longer permitted to accept Home Owner Grant Applications on behalf of the Province.
Utility, Property Tax, Development and other payments can be made in person at the District Office, dropped off in the secure drop-box at the District Office front entrance, through your financial institution's online banking, or online via the District's website here. E-transfers are also now accepted. To make an E-Transfer, email your payment to: cyoung@barriere.ca and be sure to include your roll # or physical address as well as your contact information in the memo box.
